Cabinet Unit

Assembly of the cabinet unit, which houses all the components of the fresh water tank.

In this Build Guide ‘base cabinet units’ are used as individual units, which contain most or all components dedicated to a specific function, such as water supply, kitchen plumbing, battery storage, fridge unit, etc.

With a simple construction method and ‘standard sizes’, they simplify any van build.

Cabinet Dimensions

  • A minimum 16” deep base unit is sufficient for either of the recommended tanks, but depth of unit should be in relationship to other units next to it.
  • A suggested height of either 23” or 35”, dependent on the design around it.
  • Length 48” (total of three 16” base units).
  • Use a back panel of at least 0.5 inch thickness.
