The wardrobe side wall also got a Formica finish. In addition, I started on a long-term project: a small oil painting of a Mondriaan piece for the Murphy bed. As the oil paint needs to dry completely between applications, this will take a couple of months to accomplish. Next week, the main push is to apply Formica to the Murphy bed.

I use a similar pivot mechanism on both legs and some magnets to keep the legs in place when the bed is folded up. The dark Formica on the legs, will hide them from view. After finishing up the legs, I will continue to apply Formica on most of the remainder of the Murphy bed and then install the upper cabinets above the bed.

The inside and outside of the shower drawer are getting three coats of polyurethane, the top of the box is finished off with a Maple edge. And when the cabinets are built, I have a novel solution for the shower head.
